ENJOY: Lighting from Caroline Gomez

Happy Monday! I thought I'd kick off the week with these cheery lamps designed by Caroline Gomez. Gomez is a recent favorite designer on my list - it seems as if everything she makes is both beautiful and functional, for example these lamps. I haven't come across very many standing lamps that would go well in a child's room, but these are perfect! The colored cords are definitely my favorite part. She also makes smaller table lamps (see bottom image) and a host of other adorable furniture items for children.

IMAGINE: Back-to-School from Simply Rosie Photography

Rosie is a mother of three boys (!) yet has somehow maintained an adorable girly style in her photographs. Be sure to check out her site! I am so charmed by this back-to-school shoot she did for a clothing brand, Sweet Funky Vintage. London starts pre-school next week (sniff) and I am so excited for her to meet new friends and enjoy lots of play. I'm hoping to do a little post on her gorgeous school soon but in the meantime, feast your eyes on these sweet photographs!

LIVE: Earth Child

This video from Mini & Maximus really makes me want to be a kid again! Messy kids with wild hair are the best. :)

ENJOY: Posters from Double Merrick

As soon as I saw these posters I thought "Hey, it's like those old school posters you used to see in classrooms and textbooks." Which is exactly what English designer/illustrator Merrick Angle was going after. They started as an experiment with old printing techniques combined with digital elements and turned out to be something pretty darn fantastic. (p.s. Make sure you read about where the name "Double Merrick" came from right here. It's quite adorable.)

OBSERVE: Boys' Room from Fox & Owl

I feel like girls rooms are easy and have lots of options, but that's probably because I have a girl and I am always thinking from that perspective...maybe I'll feel differently if I have a boy one day. :) If so, I hope I can create something as simple and lovely as this room shared by the two sons of talented mother Erika Olson Gross. Erika runs Fox & Owl toys and is a self-described "artist, toy maker, art teacher and treasure hunter." Check out her adorable toys here! And how about the playroom picture at the bottom, eh? Lucky boys! Isn't that how all playrooms really look? None of this pristine, everything-perfectly-placed rooms we see all the time and I love to see the real, raw mess!

ENJOY: Furniture from Katrin Arens

I'm totally blown away by this collection of kids furniture from German designer Katrin Arens. Katrin lives and works in a fifteenth-century mill, located in a beautiful area of northern Italy. Surrounded by lakes, rivers, and plenty of greenery, Katrin dreams up fantastic pieces crafted from ancient wood. These are only a small sampling of her extensive line of beautiful furniture for kids, which includes everything from cribs to benches to desks. Of course her home is the perfect backdrop for it all - think she'd mind if I moved in?

REST: Perfect Bedrooms by Airdeje Boutique

It can be pretty tough to pull together a visually pleasing yet restful place for a child to call their own, but Airdeje Boutique does it flawlessly. Their whole collection fits together without looking too matchy-matchy or like you tried too hard. With such gorgeous bedding and cute furniture, I'm dying to see what they come up with next!

OBSERVE: Ulysse's Room

Everything about this room is just so charming and I really like how the furniture and pictures pop against the dark brown wall. A good idea to use it sparingly as they did in this room, limiting it to one wall instead of all four. It brings some fun drama to the space without overwhelming it.

Hélène Millot is the inspiring one-woman creative force behind Bon Vent, a French brand of whimsical fabric objects and origami concoctions that are so sweet and lovely. I am loving her blog, where she updates about projects and installations she is working on - it's so fun to see her creative process. You can purchase her mobiles here in two different colorways.

While reading about her projects, I also found these charming photos of a tent made of sheets and blankets that her children played with on a recent vacation. So inviting! I'd love to spend an entire afternoon in there reading and relaxing. :)
