I don't like learning something unless it's fun, and apparently this South Korean family shares my view. This amazing wooden bookcase has something very unexpected running down the middle! Whizz down the slide, then hop back up the stair-step shelves and do it all over again!

Let's face it, bunk beds have come a long way since we were kids. There are so many more cool designs and configurations now. Doubling as play spaces, bunk beds have become much more than just a place to sleep. Makes the idea of sharing a room with a sibling sound much more appealing, don't you think?

It's been a doozy of a week, folks. A few Saturdays ago we ordered ten yards of dirt and it's been quite the project spreading everything out to all of the garden beds. Of course, it's been worth it as everything looks super nice and tidy now, but wow. Scott deserves a trophy or something for all of the wheelbarrowing he's been doing. I blame our garden work for my blog absence...I've just been too exhausted to do much of anything by the end of the day. Of course, I can't resist a bit of internet time and have come across some lovely grey children's rooms that I really like. Grey is one of my favorite colors and it works so well when paired with white and one other color, plus it's great for either gender.
These fresh furniture designs from CoucouManou make me smile with their subtle playfulness and soft colors. What child wouldn't like a castle wardrobe to store their clothing in? Could be an easy way to make the daily clean up battle sound a little more desirable...not that I speak from experience or anything.

What started out as a rainy and gloomy day, became a temporary flurry of bright colors and sunshine during the Spring Parade at London's school. Kindergarteners and 1st graders participated, carrying cheerful flags of dyed silk and singing on their walk from the school to a nearby park. Us adults lined the path for them to pass through and we then all joined hands for a few verses and circle activities. Raisin buns (made beforehand by the children) and oranges were served and a special handmade treasure was given to each child from the spring fairies. I feel so lucky to be able to be able to be part of a school that encourages such community and simple seasonal activities like this. What a way to usher in spring!
Oh it's good to be back home! Vacations are always fun, but coming back home is exciting, too! While we were gone our yard exploded with flowers and we are seriously enjoying all of the tulips, daffodils and blossoming trees! Sigh. Just wonderful. Sorry for my sketchy posting the last week or so – can we still be friends? I wanted to share these awesome giant crocheted pouffes from Rowen & Wren. They are made of organic cotton and are ethically produced in Asia by a team of women who determine their own schedule around their childcare and the harvest of their crop for the cotton. I love the oversized look, yet their neutral color keeps them from being obnoxious or loud. [Just looking at them is making me want to reach for a piece of fruit!]
