ENJOY: St. Paddy's Day

Since green is my favorite color, I suppose I should get more excited about St. Patrick's Day. Meh. Although this year I do have an Irish neighbor living next door, but he's been here for about 30 years and has sort of lost his accent. Bummer! Is there anything cuter than an old man with an Irish accent?? London and I did make green cookies to deliver to friends a few days ago, so I feel like my celebratory duties are over. Anywho, hope you are having a fun day of green! (And yes, these pics are from Instagram. #lazymom. I'm probably the last person to join besides your grandma, but feel free to follow me @habitatkid.)

It's so fun to see what happens when artists collaborate, especially when you are a fan of both! This recent project combines the loveable embroidered characters from Coral & Tusk with the playful girliness of Atsuyo et Akiko's textile designs, resulting in something especially sweet. ENJOY: A Joyful Christmas

I know I've been scarce around here, but hopefully I can get things back up and rolling more regularly once Santa pays a visit. I vowed not to let things get too crazy this December, but of course that didn't work. I hope you all have a lovely holiday filled with magic and delight! (p.s. Enjoy the video of London singing her favorite Christmas song, "The Twelve Days of Christmas." We've been reading this book all month and she really fell in love with the song because of it).

ENJOY: Thanksgiving

I hope you are all having a marvelous holiday spent with friends and family wherever you are. We are far from family, but close to friends and will be gathering together soon for our Thanksgiving dinner. I've been slaving away in the kitchen making my mom's traditional pomegranate salad, along with fresh rolls, kale salad, and roasted butternut squash with fennel. Yum! Let the feasting begin!

ENJOY: Wallpaper Mural

I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! The rain did indeed clear for us and we had a charming Halloween trick-or-treating in our neighborhood - surrounded by a haunted forest! This wallpaper mural from Anthropologie is more enchanted forest than haunted, but I love the moody colors and whimsical illustrations. Even better, it's printed on SureStrip, so you can easily remove it if need be. Ideal for renters!

ENJOY: A Happy Halloween!

We are off to a Halloween dinner with friends and then some good ol' trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. The rain seems to have temporarily lifted, but we will see how long it lasts...so strange to think that last year we were trick-or-treating in high rises in NYC, and what a different Halloween it is there this year. Sending lots of love to our friends who are struggling to make this Halloween a happy one for their littles, in the midst of no power, some no water and some with costumes stuck back in their apartments. I hope you are able to make some great memories despite the setbacks!!

ENJOY: Zara Home Kids

I've been anxiously awaiting the day when the Zara Home collection would be available to purchase online in the U.S. and the day has finally come! They have some sweet items in their Kids section, although it doesn't feel terribly cohesive as a collection, in my opinion. Still, plenty of cute finds!
