ORGANIZE: KAMKAM Furniture

After another long absence....here I am again. Summertime seems to cause me to lose any rhythm I had going the rest of the year and every day is different. Last week we went on a four-day hike and then had family in town and I just can't seem to get back into a routine. Hopefully autumn will bring some more predictability and structure back into our lives! In the meantime, I'll stick with this dreamy non-schedule life... I did come across this fantastic line of children's furniture from Korean company KAMKAM, featured on Handmade Charlotte. Multi-functioning kid's products are always a winner in my book, and these storage pieces that double as toys definitely get a blue ribbon. 

ORGANIZE: "Play" by Ana Babic

Um, do I even need to tell you how obsessed I am with this? Gorgeous use of materials, clever concept, functional and fun, this thing has got it all. Dreamed up by a young designer Ana Babic of Serbia (she's 26!), this storage wheel is called "Play" and is inspired by of course, playgrounds. It looks like manufacturing is currently in the works with Jasen, a Serbian furniture company. Let's hope it becomes available soon!

ORGANIZE: Furniture from CoucouManou

These fresh furniture designs from CoucouManou make me smile with their subtle playfulness and soft colors. What child wouldn't like a castle wardrobe to store their clothing in? Could be an easy way to make the daily clean up battle sound a little more desirable...not that I speak from experience or anything.

ORGANIZE: Baby Shoe Rack by Boon

So I've been a bit distracted as of late planning a last-minute baby shower for two friends of mine. No, the babies are not last-minute, but it's getting down to the wire here and I really wanted to do something for both of them, even though they are both having baby #2. In thinking about the millions of awesome baby gifts out there, it's overwhelming to try to narrow it down to just one or a few items. I can't say I had any "must-have" baby products with London – after all, the kid slept in a sock drawer for the first several weeks. Hardly posh. But then I remembered this awesome coat rack by Boon that we recently hung at kid level in our entryway, and I thought I'd check out the rest of the line. Well, what did I find? This clever little baby shoe rack! Few things are cuter than baby shoes, but having an easy way to display them (and not lose them!) sweetens them up even more. Available here, here or here.

ORGANIZE: Soft Bags from Varpunen

If you've caught the organizing bug this January, you may enjoy these bags from Varpunen. There are lots of modern but subtle patterns to choose from (available in three sizes!) and they would be perfect for toy storage, a laundry bag or wastebasket. Bring on the Legos.

ORGANIZE: Interactive Children's Furniture

This concept is so genius yet simple that I'm surprised I am just now finding it being executed. Interactive children's furniture. Of course! Without inhibiting the function of the piece, designer Elena Nunziata has created beautiful modern furniture with little details that kids will appreciate. Movable parts are key in her designs and can turn an ordinary chore, like hanging up a coat, into a fun game.

SLEEP + ORGANIZE: Beds and Dressers from xo-in my room

There's something about siblings working together creatively that just warms my heart...such as these three brothers (now grown, and with ten children between them!) from xo-in my room who have teamed up to create a fantastic line of children's furniture. Each one is made from reclaimed wood and the designs are so unique! I'd kill for one of those dressers...

ORGANIZE: Animals on Display

Does your family love to play with Schleich toys? You know, those little animal figures that you can collect (and collect, and collect)? We do, and they have a nasty little habit of taking over the house. Each one looks pretty cool and is fantastically detailed, but at the end of the day, plop! In they go to a big ol' bag or bin until someone wants to drag them out tomorrow. So when I saw this display styled by Myrica Bergqvist, I thought, "Aha!" Finally a fun way to show off these little boogers and give them the space they need. Just don't be too disappointed if they don't look this nice and neat come bedtime. :)

ORGANIZE: Storage Boxes from bookhou

bookhou is a Canadian based design studio that creates original handmade materials for home, for baby, and to wear. Their simple designs on these soft storage containers seem to be just the thing for keeping track of countless baby or kid items: a stack of diapers, creams and lotions, small toys, hair accessories for girls, art supplies, you name it. 

ORGANIZE: Dressers from Kalon Studios

If you're on the hunt for a good baby or kid dresser, the Caravan from Kalon Studios might be just what you're looking for. I'll admit they're pricey, but they look sturdy and like something that won't be quickly outgrown. Each dresser is made with FSC-Certified domestic solid maple and birch panels and finished with non-toxic, low VOC, HAPs free paint plus natural wood oil. Pretty drawer pulls and modern colors don't hurt either.
