REST: MANU Nest Hanging Chair

I am so so tired right now...the thought of crawling into this hanging chair sounds so cozy and relaxing. Made by Maffam Freeform, the chair offers room for several kids and would be such a nice spot for resting, napping, reading or playing. MANU is made from volcanic basalt fiber and can hold up to 485 pounds but only weighs 33 pounds, which really surprised me. Doesn't it look so much heavier?

REST: Bunny Chair

I'm trying to keep myself distracted from the heat we are having here in Seattle. Sounds ironic, right? It's 88 degrees right now, which is great except we have no air conditioning... Most homes in this area don't since it's cool most of the year, but if there was ever a week I wished we had a/c, this would be it! Thankfully our downstairs is much cooler and with the amount of fans I loaded up with at the store on Friday, I think we will survive. :) This rocking bunny chair is a nice distraction and you know I'm a sucker for anything made from beautiful wood. Designed by Kateřina Zemánková from the Czech Republic, the molded plywood chair can hold up to 177 lbs and can be used in a variety of positions. It also comes with felt strips on the bottom to prevent scratches on your floors - such a thoughtful addition.

REST: Rocking Chair from Stek

I don't know what it is about this little rocking chair but I am just smitten by it. It's almost cartoonish in shape, but still manages to seem sophisticated. And that bar on the back - clearly the folks over at Stek know how kids like to play with rocking chairs. The small Dutch company has a growing line of cute children's furniture, including a bench, stool, and table. I'll take it all, please and thank you.

REST: Designer Chairs for Children

I hope you all had a great Christmas yesterday! Scott and I stayed up late on Christmas Eve putting the final touches on London's dollhouse, which has already brought many hours of happy play. For months she has been constantly asking me to go to the local library so she can play with the dollhouse they  have in the children's section, so hopefully having our own will mean less trips there! Although I do love our little library - so small and cute but with modern architecture and a great open feel. Anyway...I've been looking around for chairs to replace one of the couches in our living room. We think we want swivel ones so that we can turn toward the fireplace when we want to, but turn toward the middle of the room the rest of the time. The hunt is on! While searching I came across these kid-sized versions of famous designer chairs at DWR and sighed and swooned for a while. I've seen them before, but I love the styling of these photos and it made me want one all over again. Of course the price tag is gasp worthy, so for now I'll keep dreaming...

REST: Caravan Divan

I featured Kalon Studio's Caravan Dresser several months ago, and now they have added a lovely children's divan to complement it. It's designed to be used as a first bed for toddlers and with the conversion kit, can easily transition to a cozy couch when a toddler bed is no longer needed. What a great place to play, read stories or just enjoy some quiet time.

REST: The KENNO Chair

I'm really loving this new design from SHOWROOM Finland, called the KENNO chair. It's part of a series, which consists of a larger adult chair, a child size chair, and a small stool. The furniture is made from four pieces of recycled cardboard that snap together, making assembly super easy and eliminating the need for glue or screws. The surface is perfect for decorating as well, so children can personalize it and the chair can be recycled once they grow out of it.

SLEEP + REST: H&M Kids Home Collection

I am sooo looking forward to the H&M Kids Home Collection that is scheduled to launch the end of this month in the U.S.! It's about time!! They have some super cute things lined up and I am loving the star prints and leopard towels. Anything you've got your eye on? I feel like mommies across the country are going to pounce on that site the minute it starts taking orders for all of these pretty things.

REST: Kebnekaise Mountain Beanbag

Wait...you don't know where Kebnekaise mountain is? How embarrassing. Well fine, I didn't either. :) Turns out it's the highest Swedish mountain! And now you and your kids can climb it! I know what you're thinking: "That snowy white top is going to get dirty the first day we play mountain goat." Not to worry friends, this beanbag cover is removable and machine washable. One more reason to love those fine Swedish folks over at Little Red Stuga design studio. Need more mountains to climb? Check out their Mount Everest, Kilimanjaro and Fuji. That should keep the kids busy for a while.
